BASF F-200 – Activated Alumina for Drying Hydrogen and other Gases

  • BASF F-200 is a smooth sphere of activated alumina produced by BASF’s unique manufacturing process.
  • Large surface area and pore distribution enable F-200 activated alumina to have a high capacity for H2O adsorption.
  • It can be regenerated by a drying procedure, allowing for many cycles of usage.
  • BASF F-200 is > 90% AL2O3 by weight in and comes in uniform ball sizes of 1/8”, 3/16”, or 1/4“

Key features

  • It can be used in combination with Research Catalysts’ RCI-DRI Molecular sieves and OxiGone catalysts to purify electrolytic hydrogen to fuel cell grade (99.999% H2 purity) in a Deoxo Dryer unit.
  • Regenerable media with excellent cyclic stability allows for years of reuse before needing replacement.
  • Can protect OxiGone Deoxo catalyst from KOH poisoning downstream of alkaline electrolyser systems.
